Its hard because while out of school, their food security is suddenly taken away. Through no fault of their own, they have no guarantee of a next meal.
Fear not, dear children! A non-profit group called “Mountain Mamas” have come to the rescue. And you can imagine what happens when a buch of mamas get involved.
“We understand that we cannot spare all the children,” one of the organizers, Heather Walker, said. “From every challenge, but we can give them the wisdom we gained from facing our own. Strength, courage, and perseverance are the traits we strive to instill in these beautiful young people who have the world at their fingertips.”
“God never wastes a struggle.” Walker continued. “The valleys we walked through will now become the lessons we use to guide the children in our town.”
At least a couple of times per week, Mountain Mamas provide kid-friendly meals to make it throughout the week. On Tuesdays, meals are distributed at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.., at the Community Center Pool, 705 E. Commercial Ave., and the Monterey Farmers Market, at 201 S.
