The current state (and future) of Monterey’s food options is bright. Read today’s
blog to find out why we truly believe that.

Monterey may be a small town, but despite having a

population of less than 4,000, Commercial Ave (the city’s

“Main Street”) offers visitors a variety of DELICIOUS

dining options while there!

With this in mind, we’re using today’s blog to give a brief look at two of

Monterey’s foodie staples (Ben Anna’s Cafe and Los Agaves Mexican

Restaurant) while teasing a new spot set to open later in 2024.

Ben Anna’s Cafe
With scrumptious breakfast and lunch options, a smorgasbord of desserts, and baked goods galore, Ben Anna’s is one of the longest-standing and most loved eateries in Monterey. Open Tuesday-Saturday, 7 am to 3 pm, with special events during outside hours (don’t miss these- I had the pleasure of being the musical guest for a recent steak dinner; it was divine), Ben Anna’s is a versatile, welcoming environment serving high-quality food and kindness in spades!

Los Agaves Mexican Restaurant

A newer addition (2020) to Commercial Ave, Los Agaves has quickly

(and with ever-increasing reach) established itself as a local favorite.

You can get fresh Mexican food, margaritas, and communal connection

at Los Agaves seven days a week, 10:30 am- 9:00 pm.

NewItalian Dining!
Details are still emerging, but construction is underway on an elevated Italian restaurant
opening in the space previously occupied by Reba’s Flowers and Gifts (now across the
street). This exciting addition to the food scene is creating a buzz! Stay tuned to the
Monterey Depot Museum Facebook page as we learn more about the restaurant in the
coming months!
As you can see, Monterey (both now and for the foreseeable future) is a hidden gem for those seeking a good meal in the Upper Cumberland.
