The best kept secret in the Upper Cumberland has upped its game! Read on to learn more about Whitaker Park and the fun improvements that have taken place there!

Located just three minutes from the busy world of I-40 sits lovely Whitaker Park in Monterey, Tennessee.

Donated to the City by its namesake Jeff Whitaker in 1893, the acreage that comprises Whitaker Park has provided family fun for generations!

Playground
From a jaw-dropping wooden pirate ship play area to traditional jungle gyms, swings, and slides, the playground portion is built for burning off “Capri Sun” calories! And, new for 2023, the playground equipment just got a BIG upgrade thanks to a grant awarded to the city. Be sure to check out the upgraded swings, mulch throughout much of the park, new slide equipment, and more!

Party Time
Before planning your next birthday party, consider renting one of the two covered pavilions available at Whitaker Park!

Walking Path
Maybe you’re looking for a safe, easy-to-access walking path? Again, the park is up to the task! Note: four laps equal one mile for those counting.

Amphitheater
Last but not least, the park doubles as a concert and event venue, sporting a gorgeous amphitheater. Remember to be on the lookout for events hosted by the city (spoiler, there are plenty of them, especially in the warmer months!) Secret no more!

For those unfamiliar or new to the area, Whitaker Park and the City of Monterey sit between Crossville and Cookeville on I-40 (mile markers 300 and 301). An easy drive and a quaint, beautiful city await those wanting to make a day of exploring the area!
