If the foothills of the Smokies, cozy weather, a parade, historical presentations, delicious food, and live music sound like your idea of the perfect autumn day, read on!
Built on the lore of the region, this Saturday festival is named after the small surviving piece of a huge rock monolith that once existed just west of Monterey. Note: The original structure is believed to have been crafted by the Mound Builders approximately 1,500 years ago and visitors can view what remains of it at the Monterey Public Library.
Vendors will sell handcrafted items and food, a beautiful parade will flow down Commercial Avenue, American Indian performances will awe audiences, and live music will be heard floating from the amphitheater at Whitaker Park. With exciting presentations, delicious fare, craft goods, and much more, Standing Stone Day 2023 is the PERFECT autumn festival! Don’t miss it!
